Compliance
The Iowa Health System (IHS) Board of Directors adopted a Corporate Compliance Program to help achieve excellence in the workplace and to help assure compliance with laws and regulations. An IHS Corporate Compliance Officer was appointed to oversee the development and implementation of the program including policies and procedures and guidelines designed to assist IHS and its employees and business partners in achieving compliance. Our program also provides high quality compliance and ethics training to its employees as a values driven program and is an integral part of our Clinical Ethics efforts, it focuses on the detection and prevention of violations of federal, state and local laws. It fosters an environment in which employees, affiliates and business partners are encouraged to report concerns about possible violations of law or policy. We maintain a Compliance HelpLine (1-800-548-8778) to receive reports of possible violations. This line is answered at all times. We are devoting significant resources in our Auditing Department and elsewhere in IHS to monitor performance in areas compliance risk to ensure that established policies and procedures are being followed and are effective. Our program is not yet fully implemented. Additional policies will be added to this Website as they are approved.
