Dear Legislators and Community,
Iowa Health System has a vision of providing the best outcome for every patient every time. We're working to promote prevention and wellness, provide access to health care services throughout Iowa and maintain a positive work environment for health professionals. You will see these items reflected in Iowa Health System's 2010 Legislative Agenda.
The economic circumstances of the past year have called on us to do even more. And now, more than ever, we recognize we must partner with the State of Iowa to best serve Iowans. That is why, when you read through our agenda, you will see common themes. Rather than a list of requests, we have presented a list of ideas: Opportunities for Iowa Health System to be one of several partners with the State to help address the budget crunch; ways to draw federal dollars into our State to create jobs; and efforts to sustain the welfare of our patients, the citizens of Iowa and our environment. As a group of nonprofit community hospitals, physician clinics and home health care providers, this is what is needed from Iowa Health System right now, and we stand ready to do our part.
