    President/Chief Executive Officer
    Leaver became President and Chief Executive Officer in 2008. Prior to becoming CEO of Iowa Health System, he served as President and CEO at Trinity Regional Health System in Rock Island, Illinois, for almost seven years.  He also held several senior executive positions at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Leaver has a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and a master's degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

     

    Kevin Vermeer
    Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
    Kevin Vermeer was appointed Iowa Health System's EVP and Chief Financial Officer in 2009. He formerly served as CFO for Trinity Regional Health System in Rock Island, Illinois and Interim CEO of Unity HealthCare in Muscatine, Iowa. Vermeer also worked for Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa and at Sister of Charity hospitals in Colorado Springs and Denver, Colorado. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and a master's degree in Management from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire.  He is a member of the Healthcare Finance Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

     

    Cheri Bustos

    Bustos became Vice President of Public Relations and Communications in 2008. Prior to that, she served as Trinity Regional Health System's Senior Director of Corporate Communications for more than six years in Rock Island, Illinois. Bustos is a former journalist, serving as a news editor and reporter, covering state government, city hall, police and investigations. She earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her master's degree in Public Affairs Reporting from University of Illinois at Springfield. She also is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield's Legislative Staff Internship Program. 

    Denny Drake

    Denny Drake
    Vice President, General Counsel and Compliance Officer
    Drake joined Iowa Methodist Medical Center in 1986 as general counsel and has served in that position for Iowa Health System since its inception. He also has served as Compliance Officer for Iowa Health System since 1997. Prior to joining Iowa Methodist, Drake had nine years of experience in civil litigation and corporate law. He received his juris doctorate from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, and in 1991 completed the Stanford Executive Program in the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, Stanford, California.

     

     

    Joy M. Grosser
    Vice President, Chief Information Officer
    Grosser became Vice President, Chief Information Officer in 2009. Prior to joining Iowa Health System, she served as CIO for the University of California Irvine Health Sciences System. She also worked for Loyola Health System in Maywood, Illinois, and Health Midwest in Kansas City, Missouri, and Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Health Economics from Stanford University, Stanford, California, and a master's in Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Grosser is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, the Health Information Management Systems Society and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

     

    Alan S. Kaplan
    Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
    Dr. Kaplan became Iowa Health System's Vice President, Chief Medical Officer in 2009. Prior to that, he worked as Vice President of Operations and Chief Medical Officer for Edward Health Services Corporation in Naperville, Illinois. Dr. Kaplan received his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He also earned his Master of Medical Management Degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Kaplan is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Physician Executives. He serves as an officer on the board of directors for the American College of Physician Executives.

     

    Katie Marchik
    Vice President, Finance
    Marchik became Iowa Health System's Vice President, Finance in 2009 after serving as Director of Finance for Trinity Regional Health System in the Quad-Cities for five years. Prior to that, she worked in public accounting with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP.  Marchik received her bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

     

     

    Sabra Rosener
    Vice President, Government Relations
    Rosener became Vice President of Government Relations in 2010 after serving as Iowa Health System's Director of Government Relations for three years and law department attorney for four years. Prior to that, she held positions at Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ruan Transportation and the Iowa Court of Appeals. She also has served as an adjunct professor at Drake University Law School.  Rosener received her Bachelor's of Arts degree in 1992 from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and her J.D., with honors, in 1995 from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa.

     

    Tom Tibbitts
    Vice President, System Development
    Tibbitts became Vice President of System Development in 2008. He also has served as President and CEO of Trinity Health Systems, Inc. since 1985, and President and CEO of Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa, from 1980 to 2008. Prior to joining Trinity, Tibbitts held administrative positions at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his bachelor's degree and a master's in Hospital Administration from the University of Iowa. Tibbitts is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

     

    Vivian Boyd
    Vice President, Revenue Cycle
    Boyd is responsible for working with revenue cycle leaders throughout Iowa Health System in identifying and implementing best practice revenue cycle processes. Boyd formerly served as Director of Patient Financial Services for St. Louis Children's Hospital and as Director of Billing Services for the Departments of Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. Boyd has certifications in Lean Management, Six Sigma, Change Management and Kepner Tregoe Rational Process Management. She earned a business degree from Columbia College, Columbia, Mo., and an MBA from Washington University, St. Louis.
