ThinkFirst Iowa is a school-based assembly program geared toward junior high and high school students. It focuses on the prevention of brain and spinal cord injuries experienced by 5,000 Iowans a year, most of them between the age of 15 and 24. Brain and spinal cord injuries have a devastating effect on Iowa’s greatest natural resources - its young people. THE ONLY CURE IS PREVENTION. Each year the ThinkFirst Iowa Program is presented to over 30,000 students in over 200 assemblies in both rural and urban schools throughout the state.
